Introduction

This five-day course teaches practical tools for understanding and shaping competitive position. You will learn how to map competitors, test strategic options, and build measurable plans. Sessions combine frameworks, case work, and hands-on exercises with real data. The emphasis is on methods you can use immediately on active business issues.

Objectives

1. Construct a clear competitive landscape using Porter’s Five Forces, segment analysis, and channel mapping.
2. Diagnose value-chain activities and identify specific levers for cost or differentiation advantage.
3. Produce evidence-based competitor profiles and use them to anticipate likely moves.
4. Evaluate strategic options with scenario analysis, war-gaming, and decision matrices to select a defensible course.
5. Develop an implementation roadmap with milestones, KPIs, and monitoring rules to track competitive position.
